Ericsson scholarship supports international students

A new scholarship for international students has been established at Chalmers University of Technology. Ericsson AB will fully support the tuition fee for two international students at the master’s programme Communication Engineering for the autumn 2011 intake.
“We are very happy that Ericsson wants to support the programme with scholarships. Our education in communication engineering is world class and the fact that Ericsson will provide its support confirms this”, says Gunilla Walther, Department of Signals and systems.

“We have a very good experience with graduates from this programme”,¬† says¬† Dag Jungenfelt, Head of Product Development Unit Microwave Networks at Ericsson. “To ensure that we can continue to meet the future needs in knowledge and skills, we are proud to be part of the establishment of this scholarship.”

From autumn 2011, students with citizenship in a country outside the European Union (EU), European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland will be required to pay tuition fees for Swedish Higher Education. At Chalmers the fees are set to SEK 140 000/year for most educations, and to 190 000/year for educations within the field of architecture.

The students that wish to study in Sweden can apply for several scholarships. At Chalmers, some of the scholarships are funded directly by Chalmers and others are provided by the Swedish Institute.
